Selinah Kyle: Port Trouble Selinah Kyle: Port Trouble opens on the port of Cap d’Agde, swept by a cold late-winter wind. The masts of the sailboats creak softly, ropes snap against the poles, and the grey light gives the place an almost melancholic atmosphere. In the middle of the harbor, Selinah Kyle, a 19-year-old film student, blonde with clear blue eyes, struggles with her sailboat. She seems overwhelmed, her hesitant movements revealing her lack of experience. The boat drifts slightly, and she calls for help, her voice carried by the wind. A man steps out from a nearby sailboat, drawn by her calls. Calm and confident, he makes his way toward her and quickly takes control of the situation. With a few precise gestures, he stabilizes the boat and helps Selinah dock properly. Relieved, she thanks him, still shivering. With a reassuring smile, he offers to warm up inside his boat with a cup of hot chocolate. She accepts. Inside the sailboat, the atmosphere shifts completely. The cabin is warm, lit by a soft glow. Their slightly damp clothes, the closeness, the contrast with the cold outside…everything contributes to a subtle tension. They talk, laugh, and share stories about the sea and their little misadventures. Gradually, their gazes linger longer, and the silences grow heavier with meaning. The atmosphere becomes intimate, almost suspended in time. That’s when a third character suddenly appears: a friend of the sailor, expected but forgotten in the moment. His arrival breaks the bubble, creating a moment of surprise and slight awkwardness. He reminds Aquaman of an appointment, and Aquaman slips away to get ready in the small cabin. When Aquaman comes out of the shower, still wrapped in warmth and steam, he pauses for a moment, noticing how the situation has evolved in his absence. Rather than interrupting, he naturally joins in, as if everything has become obvious. Glances are exchanged, roles balance themselves, and the tension rises once more. The cabin turns into a cocoon outside of time, where usual rules seem to fade away. The scene ends on this shared intensity, a blend of surprise, desire, and surrender to the moment.
