Monthly Punishment Day Maja is just stirring in bed when the Headmaster arrives unannounced. She cannot imagine why he is there until he shows her an appointment book while swishing a cane around. Then she realizes… it is Monthly Punishment Day, and her face falls. She gets on her hands and knees on the bed and readies herself for the caning, her bottom already bare. He administers additional punishments to her hands and feet with a ruler. Maja is left curled on her bed in the fetal position.
